reading this, I began to consider where this extract came from, noting that
it is not freely available in many raw grains.
Enzymes are needed
to free up this extract
for the brewer to use to make alcohol and to provide many of the needed nutrients for
yeast growth. Without this process there would be no beer. Now how sad is that!!
